welcome back to the Skaject folks! the next record we’re looking at is mu330’s Chumps On Parade, released in 1996!

it took a lil bit to warm up to Chumps On Parade. its a lil rough around the edges, and at 19 tracks its spread a bit thin, but i think there are some real fun moments here. its a bit eclectic, but always energetic and spirited. even the places where i wasnt like, in love with tracks, theres quite a bit to love. Curse and Got Caught, for example, are tracks early in the record that i enjoy parts of enough that i kept thinkin about it.

that being said, the highs are pretty high. Chumps on Parade comes out the gate swinging with Wide Awake, which is frantic and frenetic, and State O Mind, which continues the energy (with some really fun bass that peeks up here and there). Fat and Married has a really good hook and melody. LA is fun, if a bit stupid, haha. i love Hang Tuff Hold Tight as a song about touring and making it as a band, and it is pretty funny that it opens a run of tracks that are about the band. Fried Chicken is a masterpiece. i love this song about fried chicken. im not like, the biggest fan of The Punisher but the back half the track, Downtown, is one i was predisposed to like from the Toh Kay cover.

on the whole, v fun. kind of an odd one, but i really got into it after a listen or two, and i can absolutely see how mu330 would develop some hardcore fans off a record like this.
